Monica
Ruggiero.
My work is very sensitive, transforming canvas and paint into visual narratives that rescue memories and values. I value tradition without being tied to the past, recreating it with a modern perspective and bringing to light the essence of what, in the rush of the modern world, is at risk of being lost.

Mônica Ruggiero lives art as a continuous pulse, a calling that has accompanied her since her childhood in São Carlos, São Paulo. She was that child fascinated by colors, shapes and compositions, who saw poetry where others saw only everyday life. Her talent for drawing soon revealed itself, becoming her most natural form of expression. In painting classes with Dona Noêmia Cardinali and, later, with professor Júlio Bruno, she took her first steps on a path that she would never stop following.
His interest in architecture came as an extension of his attentive gaze at the world around him. He studied Architecture and Urbanism at PUC-Campinas in the late 1980s, but art was always there, latent. In 2003, he decided to deepen this connection and enrolled in the Fine Arts course at the São Luís School of Education, in Jaboticabal. It was there that everything fell into place: the precision of architecture met the freedom of painting, consolidating his artistic identity.
Mônica’s career is marked by a constant dialogue between tradition and experimentation. Her work uses a variety of techniques — from watercolor to oil and acrylic — and covers themes ranging from landscapes to portraits, always with a focus on memory, identity and the impact of art on society. Social and environmental issues permeate her work, bringing to light reflections on what is lost in the fast-paced contemporary world.
